Does short shoe go on the front?

If your '40 has the original Lockheed brakes, then the long shoe goes on the front and the short shoe goes on the rear. If your car has been modified and it has Bendix brakes, then the short shoe goes on the front. Ken

New brake shoes I got were all the same length. In the end, I guess it doesn't matter. I asked the late Dick Spadaro about it one time at his store.
