Aren't roadster doors and deck lids stuffed with something to reduce drumming? If so, what material is used?

Yes, it's like the old fashion excellsior packing material. It looks like shreads of wood packed into a waterproof paper container about 12" x 12" and the thickness of the door.

Deck Doors (Lids) I do not think are stuffed with anything. But Tom is right on the doors themselves.

The only padding, I think, was in the middle of the Deck Door where there is a split rivet. Not sure, as I have never tore one apart but if not...then why the split rivet?

Deck has a piece of felt-like material about 1/8"-3/16 thick; rather soft, not hard. Maybe 4x5" rectangle. I suppose it is a stiffner and the pad is anti-rattle. Most wonder why the inner liner of a deck lid rusted out so easily. If you ever take one apart, the inner liner is likley 22 gauge; I never mic'd one. But much thinner than the skin.

When I restored my cabriolet, I found wadded up 1932 newspaper in the rear rumble seat lid. I don't know how or when it got there, but there it was. I still have some of it, I think.
