open car wind screen -28 phaeton hello- anyone have any thoughts on drilling out the 2 screws on top of each side of the w-screen in order to disassemble it? the screws are badly rusted. also, i guess there must be a 90 degree round fixture on the top corners to make the windscreen strong -is this correct? thank you

Re: open car wind screen -28 phaeton I believe there is a L shapped bracket in the corner. I don't believe it is round. I think it is rectangular bar stock bent into a right angle with tapped holes for the screws on the stanchion sides. I am not sure, but I think the right angled bracket is spot welded or somehow fastened without screws to the top windshield piece (or windscreen as you would call it). I have 3 open car windshield frames, but haven't disassembled them yet. I suspect I will have the same problem you are having.
