columbia rear end.
 

I am in the dark when they talk about bullit proufing the columbia rear end. What is done to it ?

The ring gear carrier holds the diff gear cross in slots , it is prone to crack in the root of the slot, bullet proofing is to put a sleeve over that area giving it much more strength

Heres a few pictures. maybe these will help.The hub on the left has been banded where the spider cross sits for added strenth, the one on the right has not and they are prone to crack from stress. Notice the crack the pencil is pointing to on the panetary assy, These get rewelded inside and out to prevent this.The one on the right has been rewelded inside and out. Originally they were just welded on the outside.
