Front Brakes Draging

  • Hi. I was the fellow with the front wheels dragging, today I removed the wheel bearings ,the bleeders and released the brake adjustments the hubs will not pull out over the brake shoes. Any idea how to get them off. Thanks John

Loosen the 2 top cams on the backing plate until they stop turning and then back off a bit, if the drum still won't come off over the shoes loosen the bottom 2 adjusting 3/4 nuts and turn the inner ones so the dot on the ends point to each other. Walt

Sounds like the wheel cyl isn't retracting. How about taking the lower adjusting studs nuts off and try to wiggle the drum off. If it doesn't work then go take the wheel cyl screws out and try it. Lastly, take the backing plates and all off together.
