Ezold's "Secret" Vintage Fords
 

I was browsing through many of my morning websites and stumbled upon this story about Ezolds Secret Vintage fords. I thought it was interesting and don't think it has been posted on this forum before. This gentlman has many model a's and what not. Hope you enjoy this quick story.

I've visited and it's an experience, always something interseting either for sale or in being worked on. On rte 10/202 north of the I-90 exit for westfield, ma (about 3-4 miles, Just past barnes a/port on left.

Yes, but that was sept.
He had some health issues, and a tough economy.
Massachusetts is an awful place to have a business. (But that does not stop our Governor from spending $9 million (True) to renovate his office. Not add on, no addition, but renovate for $9 million. He spent $90k to redecorate it a few years ago. We have more people on Welfare than we have working. On welfare you get the equivalent of $15.66 / hr, one of the highest rates in America, plus free health/dental, heating assistance, food stamps, child care. And never have to make a timeclock, report to a boss, or deal with time. Just sleep in, and we pay.)

Maybe at some point he may be doing some smaller work. I understand he has most of his tools and machinery in storage. Many things went to the scrap yard. But for now he has to make his health issue #1.

I agree. Your governor should be doing some smaller work. Like dogcatcher?

Oh wait. You're talking about Ezold. Sorry. And hopes for a recovery on his part.

Otherwise you're talking about my own reason for escape from Taxachusetts.

There was another Model A parts house/restorer in Easthampton I've done business with. I've told about him restoring handles for the 82A Closed Cab pickup. This back in the mid 1990s. To support my discussion and remind me of his name I googled the shop - but can't find today.

Probably another victim of the "Miracle of Massachusetts?"

I'm thinking of the name. They were in Chicopee when the father owned it. When he passed, the children built a big complex in Easthampton. The costs of expansion dept & Family squabbles, it ended with everything being auctioned off several years ago.

YES - Pioneer valley. Thank you. They did a VERY FINE job on my 29 CC handles. This handle unusual in that they have the "insert" the actual making thereof I'm not sure (I think it might have been painted canvas) but is yet another step in the plating/restoring process - and a little difficult to deal with in soldering everything back together again.

Maybe PV not a direct hit this of the "Massachusetts Miracle." But can be termed "collateral damage?"

Mr Paul was wonderful. He had all these buildings and places. You would ask for something and he would reach into a pile and grab a jar with a dozen parts.
I was only 16 when I got my Model A. It was a 2 hour drive each way for me. He had a gruff exterior, but was so kind to me, and would always give me something I could not buy, his time and experience.

I agree with everything you said about Warren Paul. He was very helpful to me on both 160B's I restored, one of which I bought from him.

Talk about pulling things from a pile. I was on my way to Page's in New Hampshire to look for a front seat for a 160B. I stopped at Warren's to drop off a radiator to be reworked and mentioned where I was going. Warren led me outside and said he had the remains of a 160B under what looked like a compost pile. Sure enough, he pulled a seat out of the pile. Seats for 160B's are very hard to find and i was amazed. That seat is still in the car I'm driving.
