Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup Hit a swap meet. You should find a Motors manual in the year range for about $15.00

Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup I have one if you need some photo copies.

Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup There are two excellent ones that complement one another in content:
From the C&G Ford site DG-069 Shop Manuals 42-48 Passenger Note: 230 pgs 42-48 Mercury Note: 230 pgs Return to Top of Page Price $20.00 ea (USD) V-24 Shop Manuals 46-48 Passenger Note: 256 pgs 46-48 Mercury Note: 256 pgs 46-47 Pickup Note: 256 pgs Return to Top of Page Price $30.00 ea The first (expanded reprint of 1946 Ford Canada shop manual) covers major repairs of everything. The second is an expanded reprint of Ford USA service manual (1946), very good on maintenance, R&R, wiring and electrics, and tuning. It also has excellent photos showing details of wiring runs and such. |
Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup FYI, the 42-47 Ford pick ups are the same (with a very few exceptions) so any service/parts books for those years will be helpful to you. also cabs from 1940 to 47 are the same basic units. show us some pictures and ask questions,l there are a bunch of truck guys on the site.

Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup B&W...wire codes are called out in the diagrams. What you get in these pics are shots of engine compartment, area around transmission, undercarriage, etc. that help sort out where wiring bundles are clipped, exact placement of brake lines, that sort of thing. Just good pics of odd details on a new car.

Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup 1 Attachment(s)
Thanks Bruce, I have been attempting to sort out the tracer patterns used. There is a wire color and a tracer color called out, but the tracer comes in a number of different patterns. I have never found a good reference for the patters. They are single tracer, double tracer, single cross, double cross, 50-50, etc.

Re: Shop manual 41-47 pickup And hard to figure out, as most surviving original wire is badly faded.
