How to install windshield frame gasket? 1930 fordor...
1. What are you supposed to do about the nut on each side that goes between the gasket and the frame? Seems there is not room for both. The only options seems to be to force it in and distort the gasket. Or should I stop the gasket short of the screw/nut? 2. How do I finish the corners? Cut each at a 45 degree angle? Then attempt to glue them? Leave them alone? |
Re: How to install windshield frame gasket? Leave corners alone, no glue....Trim rubber as necessary to fit behind the nut and framing metal... Sharp knife, screwdriver and good scissors and take your time.....

Re: How to install windshield frame gasket? Do not cut to fit right away, let it sit for a day or two before any final trimming as the rubber will be stretched from install and will shrink. I cut mine as a 45, because I like the look,

Re: How to install windshield frame gasket? The corners look much better if you carefully cut them to 45 degrees after a few day to let the rubber settle and glue them together. I super glued my corners and they look very nice.
