1931 Tudor panel under visor question *pictures* I found this piece for under the visor in Grandpa's garage that had been missing. I have a brand new header that I am planning on installing soon and I noticed today that the panel does not fit the contour of the wood header.
Upon further inspection I noticed the panel has been beat up quite a bit and maybe bent in the past for some reason. Can anyone tell me if this thing needs some hammering? Perhaps someone has a picture of a correct one that I can use for reference. Is the panel suppose to fit the contour of the header? I will take a picture of it against the header tomorrow if that helps. Thanks! http://s23.postimg.org/ap9hgwv6f/20150421_165209.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/eo6ozqjtj/20150421_165227.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/grh47ejmf/20150421_165244.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/vei2p2i8n/20150421_165308.jpg |
Re: 1931 Tudor panel under visor question *pictures* On my 31 Tudor, I believe it's flat and it tacks to the header across the top.

Re: 1931 Tudor panel under visor question *pictures* On the 29 Tudor we did the header supplied had a lot of excess wood and needed the top part sanded down to meet the header panel. Your panel is not to beat up and could easily be straightened out.

Re: 1931 Tudor panel under visor question *pictures* Thanks for responding to my post. I've taken some pictures of the panel with the header to give you guys a better understanding of my question. When I received the car the top was not finished so I do not have pictures to use as reference so any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Les Andrew's book does not have a very good picture of this piece going in place.
The face of the panel can be pushed upward closer to the top edge of the header, however, I am wondering if it is meant to be flush with the header or not. Thanks again http://s2.postimg.org/sherl1ah1/20150422_161457.jpg http://s2.postimg.org/ubrm2rxhh/20150422_161511.jpg http://s2.postimg.org/lcwyc037p/20150422_161530.jpg http://s2.postimg.org/xhc7szg3p/20150422_161547.jpg |
Re: 1931 Tudor panel under visor question *pictures* it gets pushed up closer to the edge of the wood and welting goes along the top between that and the visor.. usually there is a small gap of wood showing but the welting covers it
