Re: heathkit This is why I don't purchase anything unless I can find a manual first.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231486626126 Although the auction has ended it did not sell. Try contacting the seller. |
Re: heathkit Heathkit manuals use to be available free as a download pdf file from a number of sites. However, the Heathkit name was bought and the present owner of the Heathkit name also says that he owns the copyright on the manuals. I believe that they can be bought from him.
I have seen some web sites outside of the US that still have the manuals available for free. Marc |
Re: heathkit Not related..but I LOVE Heathkit radio kits and put many together as a kid. Walkie talkies to short waves. Nice memory..thanks

A you have leftover parts that look important B when you think your done but what you have doesn't look like the box |
Re: heathkit Thanks, I never thought to search completed auctions. I've used other scopes so I'm fairly confident on how to use it...mostly I just want the documentation.

Re: heathkit I built a Heathkit Amplifier in the mid 50s. It worked great and I still have it in my attic.
I remember that my mother was not allowed to come in to clean my room, while I was building it. They came with a million parts and a road map, like, set of instructions, on how they went together. It was one tiny step at a time. I will never forget it. It was, as if you knew anything about electronics, you would take shortcuts, and screw it up. I knew nothing and followed each and every step. Mine worked the first time. MIKE :) (mikeburch) |

Re: heathkit I bought a Heathkit active audio processor kit in 79. It was a professional, good looking kit and it took days of assembly to get it all together. I still have and use it on my system from the 70s. It gives a sense of satisfaction that I built it. I have had to replace a resistor and capacitor in it and it was good to have all the schematics and manual because it really needed calibrating after that.

About a year before I actually purchased my current rig, there was on display in my living room, a Model A 19" tire and wheel, complete with lug nuts and hub cap. Then in my office was an instrument panel, complete with all the gauges and ignition switch. All this as a constant reminder of my goal at hand. (It had been 50 years since I had owned a Model A, and I was determined to get another one.) Then, after I made the deal for the PU in my avatar, it was several months before I actually had it in hand. During that time, I had a bunch of the manuals and catalogs already in hand. Had contacted and joined the local Model A club, and had made acquaintances with quite a few of the local "A" owners that I didn't know existed. A half dozen of these guys were there with me when they unloaded my prize out of the container on a cold February afternoon. |
