Time marches on It is no secret that we are all getting older. Many on this board have recently had medical issues, and some have passed on. A few years ago I had a stroke, and several of you sent cards, which I kept. I have met several of you at car shows, and Hershey, including BarryB, Peters180, Don Turley, 31flamingo,Barnstuff, Joop, and others. Tomorrow I go to the VA hospital to have an arterie in my neck that feeds the brain cleaned out. It should be a routine deal, with a few days in hospital. There is a chance of another stroke, but I am hoping for the best. I should be back here by the end of the week if all goes well.

Re: Time marches on For what it's worth, My mother had that operation the eighties. It was a resounding success. Today it's sorta.... well, almost routine and I think that you have very little to concern yourself with. On another note, I had my stroke on 2003. It was a blood clot that was blocking a speech for four days until I was talking to my daughter (who is a nurse) and she recognized my speech aphasia and told me to get to the emergency room. STAT! I lost much of my German, my memory, My speech at times, I gave up flying for good because I couldn't recall the pre flight checklists and my muscle coordination. I no longer trusted myself to land properly. Prior to the stroke, I had a Mensa level IQ. It diminished down after. Some times even now, 12 years later I still can't get out words I want to use, names? Forget it! I know that even posting on FB, occasionally, I miss important details in descriptions. I often wonder what everyone who reads it must be thinking and why everyone is so polite about it. One of the most exasperating things about this, is the "ability" to look directly at something and not see it. And not occassionally, It happens everyday. And so it goes!
