Head torquing

The motor in my car was rebuilt in the 70's and only has 1900 miles on it. The oil in it looks good and I will probably continue using Valvoline. I have since 1964. I am going to try synthetic since I have been using in my other cars for 10 years. Today's oils are all good as far as I have read.

i switched from castrol dino oil in my 95 truck to full synthetic at 186K miles, no issues at 210K. id say you are good. I wonder tho since you cant actually get all the regular oil out due to the dipper try what it would do when synthetic combines with it...

They call that "synthetic blend" Do you have full filtering capacity? And yes torque the head if you haven't done it yet.

I was not paying attention and thought I was replying to the oil question. I really want to know about the torquing sequence and I understand no more than 55 ft/lbs.

55lbs has been determined over time to be the minimum. If you go over (as recommended for High Compression heads) no big deal. The most important thing is that they are all the same.
