Looking for a cariature ~~

Looking for a caricature ( hope that is the correct spelling & correct use of the word )
What I am looking for is a obscure cartoon guy that -- lets say -- is stepping out.

His feet are way ahead of his body & larger in size & his body is smaller and set back.

It looks like he is stepping on something with his over size feet.

I want to have my pin striper draw a picture of him on the trunk of
SHEBA stomping outALS

Thanks for any help you can provide !!

P.S. is there any one that remembers "KILL ROY" ???

P.P.S. Sun is up enough I can see it snowed last night , ground is white
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA will winter never end ???

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

I think you mean caricature (just add a "c" in there)...and I know the one you're speaking of, but haven't seen it in years. It used to be popular on Tee shirts in the 70's, try a Google Image search of 70's caricatures,...I know I am going to now:)

That will be the Basis with a few changes , don't know if it will contain words or just the picture of him stomping out ALS

What do you guys think will the picture alone be understandable ??

Not unless you add something to it an change some wording to suit your goal.

I/e "The fight against ALS" on top

and your message at the bottom

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

Do a search for "Keep on Truckin' cartoon". Incidentally, this the guy I had on my flight helmet in the Navy.

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

Mike B -- I was thinking of a broken up ALS
under foot.

Fibber Mcgee -- That's kill Roy all right.

SHURsc -- I like that color combination may incorporate it in to the final picture.

THANKS Guys :)

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

Some history I was able to gather...
"'Keep on Truckin' was published in the first issue of Zap Comix in 1968. It's taken from a line in the lyrics of the Blind Boy Fuller song Truckin' My Blues Away. The image became an icon of optimism during the hippie era."

Caution, this image is still being used...may be some copyright issues.

I plan on using it as a starting point & plan on not making $$$ off of it.
But where could I look up if there is a copy right on it???

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

Chap52, that is some neat history. I related the picture with the Grateful Dead song for obvious reasons when I chose it for my helmet visor. I was trying to be a "wild and crazy" jg.
Sorry, Bill. This has nothing to do with the intent of your thread but it invoked a lot of old memories.

No apology needed ~ contrary to some here the hobby is made up of cars /trucks and YES PEOPLE.

The caricature will go on the left trunk lid on SHEBA a 47 tudor.

And thanks for you service.:D

Re: Looking for a cariature ~~

Perhaps a version of the "Western Exterminator" about to smash an "ALS"? A little more hotrod-esqe, as it was kinda known to have been drawn by VonDutch's dad, and kind of filtered into the Kustom Kulture scene, Can somebody please post one? I gotta drive the kid to school right now... The Keep on Trucking' guy might not convey the "smashing", unless he's kinda stepping over an already crumbled one? I will be in the studio all day involved in other design projects, and can draw, or at least compose and sketch whatever you want to end up with, given until this time tomorrow. Maybe just a characature of you, crushing some letters by hand, could be painted on the deck lid by a skilled sign painter with old time skills, that's what I'd vote for! -Chris, in Boulder

Working today, but a 10 minute sketch is always fun. Sketch ala Monty Python / school house rock. It would need to be refined of course. And a stomping cartoon that could be adapted. A good pin striper / sign painter should be able to draw something up for you too.

You can also put a request up on the HAMB for a artist to do a sketch or layout for you. There are some talented artist over there that might offer help for a worthy cause.

Also a t-shirt I did, a few years back, for a benefit for a HAMB members son with health issues. All I wanted was a t-shirt for the design.

Would be happy to help in anyway I can. Great cause!

If you guys do come up with one I like would you charge me for your design.
Also if I choose to use one over the other please don't get offended.
I have a OLD SCHOOL sign painter he did some pin striping on SHEBA
