Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing 2 Attachment(s)
There are two numbers B 7600-A & 70 7600-B both are for 1928 through 1948.
70 7600-B is an Oilite bushing B 7600-A is a bearing Believe the same parts are used all the way through on the flatheads, but the Green Book only does to 1948. |
Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing Thx J

Most parts stores have these in stock, at about $7. The modern NATIONAL (brand) number is 203-FF. |
Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing Use the bearing, not the "paper weight" bushing. It was tried and dropped years ago.

Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing Kuby got it. 203double shield. Walt

Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing Walt, the shield doesn't keep dust contamination out of the pilot ball bearing. Best to use sealed bearing (both sides) or at least a seal on one side and shield on other side, with sealed side out towards the clutch side of the flywheel and shield side towards crankshaft. I also pop one of the seals out using a small flat blade jewelers screwdriver and repack the bearing with high temperature grease if I can't buy them that way, then pop the seal back in place.
The ball bearing shown in JSeery's post #2 has a seal on the side that's facing up. Here is a previous post on pilot bearings that may be beneficial to read and see some of the pictures posted... https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...earing+bushing |
Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing I guess your thinking of the transmission and not the pinion.
|
Re: 1935 Ford Part # pilot bearing It's worth mentioning the bearing is a standard sized metric bearing.
just in case you didn't know. Mart. |
