What's the value of a 1928 Model A AR/E28?
 

My dad has a 1928 Model A AR/E28 which his dad rebuilt in the early-to-mid 90s. It has all of the unique parts on it in excellent condition.
I.E: Open front bumper, red steering wheel ect. It's all original, and has been garage kept all it's life.

(I don't plan on selling it, I actually plan on keeping it in the family for the rest of my life, just curious.)

As the song from Fiddler on the Roof goes, "Condition!," it's all about condition and body style. Provide lots of pics and you will get lots of opinions!

I'll try when I get home, it's parked behind a lot of other cars, but what I can tell you it's in excellent condition, paint, body, interior, ect. We've been meaning to get it out and get it going, but my aunt has her car parked in the way.

Estimated value is just that. When it comes down to it. It's what ever someone will give for it.

Value is whatever people are willing to pay, right? I've always thought searching ebays completed auctions was a good indicator. Not open/ongoing auctions, but completed auctions to see what sold for how much, and what didn't sell for how much. Don't get distracted by current bids or asking prices. In real estate value is primarily determined by recently sold comps. Same thing.

post some pics of those early '28 features and let's see what opinions you get as to whether or not they are "authentic original"

First you start off with the body style. Some body styles get more money then others.
Next you need to determine if it's number matching, engine and frame.
After all that is done and a price is determined on the base car, we need to check the early stuff needs to be confirmed as original and all there. Everything checks out I feel adding 20-25% is about right.


If someone has such a car to sell he/she needs to remember there a small group that cares about such things and it would not be a quick sale to the average person wanting a Model A.
