ridge remove lube

Shortly I will be starting my new project, and the first job is to de-ridge the bore so I can disassemble the engine.

Is any lube used on the ridge remover or dry ?

Pooch ideally a ridge remover works dry
I how ever pack the cylinder with heavy grease to catch the metal filings and clean before raising each piston
If it has large ridge and will need to be rebored I skip removing the ridge

I believe cast iron is always machined dry.

Re: ridge remove lube

Yes dry any lube causes a build up on the cutter which you constantly have
to clean.

Dry
There is a set up procedure, follow it as a poor job will be the result.
