HC head frustration

Put a snyders 5.5 head on my cabriolet a few weeks ago........... It has been a roller coaster! It's a balanced engine that ran very well prior to the head change, while it certainly has more power it doesn't run as smooth. I have replaced the plugs, coil, rotor, cap, coil, cleaned the carb, replaced the fuel filter, timed it 3 times, played with the GAV and spark advance......... Suggestions???????? I'm almost ready to pull the head off and put the stock head back on.

Add to that I traded carbs just now with not much improvement.

Re: HC head frustration

I would take a compression check or a leak down test because basically all you did initially was to change the head and gasket.I would also check the dist.because that was also removed, especially the pigtail on the lower plate.
