Re: Original or reproduction I believe that all model A cutouts have split feet on them. So any cutout with just a hole is not model A cutout. Original model A cutouts have a brownish circuit board like piece riveted to the botom like the first picture - the middle cutout. Some original Ford cutouts had a script on them and some didn't. Some repro have Ford scripts, so that in not a very good way to differentiate them from original cutouts. I have found the best way is checking the two mounting feet and the brownish part on the bottom. The Judging Guidelines are helpful in determining which cutout is used for what model A year.

Re: Original or reproduction In the top picture, numbers 2,3,5, and 7 look to be original. From the bottom picture, numbers one, three, and four look to be originals.

Re: Original or reproduction I agree with Gary regarding appearance of the cutout shown.
None of the cutouts shown are the very early type: the very early type also have a "Ford" script which can be engraved in either direction on the cover but the contacts differ from the later cutouts. Ron |
Re: Original or reproduction The top picture only 2 and 5 look like original Model A cutouts to me. Number 1 looks like an original post Model A cutout.
Number 7 shows capacitors and looks like a regulator cutout. Number 3 shows a couple shiney screws and made have had a diode kit installed. |
