Just when you thought that you seen it all..My Deck Door

Started disassembling the Rumble Seat items from the September 1929 Standard Coupe today to convert it back to the trunk it was originally.

Now here is one for you. The original Deck Door Upper Brackets for the trunk hinges were removed, I know that for a fact...Just why the heck I did, I have no idea as that was back in 1979 when I was just getting back after it.

HOWEVER...I notice that those same brackets, not the ones I removed in the first place, are also on the opposite ends of the Deck Door...Now what the heck here. Both sides have the same bolts, nuts, Lock washers and Shakeproof Lock washers and double nutted on two of them but NOT riveted.

Has anyone ever seen this on any Deck Doors?

Yes Dudley...The "Doubler" is there!

It probably isn't...Some FORD assembly guy back in 1929 got his "ends" mixed up when he punched out the holes for the hinge brackets I guess.

Interesting screw-up that day. Maybe he was scared of a Stock Market crash!

Better yet send some here Pluck. Been a long time since we fired up Gandpa's still. Probably was 1982 when he made the last run. He passed away in 1983 and as far as I know it has been unused and stashed away and not touched. Rod

In 1969 when I was about 10 years old, I bought my first 33LP, In A Gadda Da Vida, and I joined MAFCA. Coincidence you say? I think not! :D

I bet most fordbarners have affectionate memories of this music, especially the drums and organ.

BTW, still have the original vinyl and jacket, well worn.

Same here Vince...I was 19...It was 17 minutes of pure "smoke'n" fun!
