Rear end lube change 2 Attachment(s)
This is the first of things on my check list. I pulled both plugs and let the old black lubricant drain out. I had to stick a small screwdriver up the bottom hole. I let it drain as much as it would and then took a spray bottle full of kerosene and shot a good stream into the upper hole and around as much as possible. That cleaned out a lot of gunk. I then added 1 1/2 pints of the 600w gear oil. Just for safe keeping I used a little of the plumbers tape on the plug threads. Tomorrow the trans. See picture of old stuff.

Re: Rear end lube change i would drain and refill both again in the near future to help flush it out. do it after a good drive when the fluid is warm...

Re: Rear end lube change Before I would have added new stuff, I would have jacked up one side, filled with diesel, put the plugs back in and ran it, then drained it over night at least. Same with transmission.
