What's a fair price?

I saw this pickup for sale. What do y'all think is a fair price? I have a idea of what I think. http://i1099.photobucket.com/albums/...DF3F32FD_1.jpg

$2500 - $3200 would be where I would be at. Others will likely value it higher. Rod

I was thinking 2,500 or so. He wants much more than that.

I would go higher if the doors are in good shape. Just decent doors by themselves are a thousand a pair or maybe a little more. A decent box is $500 to $700. I would think $4000 would be a fair price. Of course it depends a lot on the overall condition. If there is minimal rust, maybe even a little more, like $5000. From one picture, it is hard to tell a lot about the pickup.

What kind of a deal is he willing to make on the other A parts? Is that a 28-29 roadster cowl on the left side of your picture? Rod

I don't know. He has a bunch of stuff. I think he pieces some stuff together and sells it.

$2500.00 to $3000.00 , offer him cash on the spot and watch his expression. You may entice him with cash..Dont think he would pass up an on the spot deal..

I was thinking about offering him a trade. I have a 26 t touring car. That I have been wanting to unload.

Re: What's a fair price?

I think it depends on what you want to do to the truck. I agree under $3K.

There's one on ebay at the moment Bid $2,550 and doesn't look as good as this one it later fenders and there all ripped!

It depends if you want one not much around in the low price range.

Re: What's a fair price?

Does he even have a title for it? While it depends on your state rules, for me, no title = no sale.

Re: What's a fair price?

He says he has a title for it. He is asking 6,000 for it. I'm betting he won't come down to where I think he needs to be.

Re: What's a fair price?

Sadly there are people who will pay his price.

The price is really dependant on just how much of the truck is not wore out. You kind of need to do the math. How much to buy plus how much to make it decent. Odds are at $3000 you are still above what you can buy one restored.

I know a guy who bought a pickup that moved under its own power. Leaked gas at about a gallon an hour. Was paint over rust pits and he spent $8000 for it. Trust me it was a case of a guy with way too much money for his senses.
