Deck (trunk) Lid Hinge Bracket...

On the Deck (trunk) Lid there are two brackets, both on the upper corners, left and right, and inside the lid.

The two brackets are connected to the lid by the means of a flat head rivet (YES DUDLEY...IT IS A RIVET AS YOU WELL KNOW).

The question is, was this a solid fit by the rivet OR was there supposed to be some slight movement of the brackets for means of adjusting the lid squareness?

Thank you.

Pluck

on my NOS deck door the bracket is riveted in the center you can move it up or down for adjustment but it is tight. I put a punch in the hinge screw and tapped with a hammer to get it to move.

John,...that's how I figured it was, as far as the movement...
The question for me, and I know Pluck is also interested;.....

Do you see a "shim" in there?... it should look like this..

there is NO shims in in mine. there was no screw lock washer & nut in it when I got it so I installed them so you can see how it goes.
