Smart Signals availability

Has anyone heard about when the Smart Signals wireless turn signal lighting system will be available? I called them several times last year and he just kept saying they will be available soon. I signed up for the news letter to stay informed when they will be available but still no news. The web site says they are back ordered and has been for at least 8 months.

I have also been inquiring for several months. I am truly not impressed. They may have a good product but their customer service skills are sadly lacking. Wayne

I was fortunate to get mine about a year ago, and they are an exceptional product. All USA made, and fine workmanship. I hope they get their production up and running soon. They are the best signal system I've ever had.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with the company in any way beyond being a satisfied customer.

All USA made. :) That's one reason I bought them.

Is the name "Smart Signals?" perhaps if several of us were to make inquiry within the month, they may get going, thinking of future sales. We do have to have a site contact somehow to get the correct party. I, will gladly make inquiry. for one, if I know where to address my questions.

welllll yes and no, says right on their site the best parts are selected then assembled in the USA. meaning they probably get good quality parts from china then its assembled here in the states...

yea most of the reason electronic gizmos fail are bad components and or shotty soldering jobs so i am glad to see they actually care about the quality more than the bottom dollar.

Well, by golly, Slugs, yer right. When I bought mine last year they proudly claimed "All parts made in America." But I also heard they sold the company late last year, and apparently that policy and practice changed. I'm going to call in the morning and confirm.

They may care about quality but they certainly don't card about customer service. Their customer service standards are pathetic. Wayne

Web site loads OK for me. I talked to the owner last week. They're still in biz, but have expanded their product line. Car signals are still listed on their site.

And when pray tell did he say they would be available. Why expand product line when you already can't service your customers. Definitely not a company I want to do business with ! Unreliable and undependable describes this company! Wayne

700rpm: Love your signature line-except Yogi didn't say it. It's actually Danish from the 1930's. Still fun, though.

K. K. Steincke, Goodbye and Thanks (1948), quotes it as a pun used in the Danish parliament in the late 1930s.

Thanks for the note. I can't find that the Steincke attribution has been absolutely verified as the original, though he is certainly one of many who said something similar. I gave it to Yogi because he has so many other good ones.

I like researching the origin of terms and phrases. "OK" is one of the more interesting. "23skidoo" is also fascinating for its risque roots and innuendo, as is "O you kid", two slang terms common in the Model A era.
