Waht color is this coupe?

Hello; since the color photos on E-bay seem to show up nicely, I always search through the cars for fun; i am trying to pick out a color for my coupe!
This car came up for sale 2 days ago and I like the combination, so I'll ask;
what colors is it painted? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Model-A...US_Cars_Trucks
There seems to be no color charts available for an A', I have been looking at completed cars for ideas and choices. Thanks :)

The paint and finish guide sold by MARC and MAFCA, and most model A suppliers has the paint chips and the list of what was offered on each model.
That car you linked to seems to be a variation of chickle drab and copra drab.

It says in the description on e-bay that it's chicle and copra drab.

Re: Waht color is this coupe?

The Judging Standards does list the color combinations but unfortunately does not show the colors, so that one won't be of much help in this instance. This vehicle is painted in what some do consider to be Copra & Chicle however the layout of the scheme is incorrect.

Below is a more correct shade of Copra & Chicle including an accurate layout.

Re: Waht color is this coupe?

It is Chicle Drab and Copra Drab, but in a custom combination. According to the JS the upper body, Belt & sill mouldings were all painted Copra Drab. In this case only the belt mouldings and window reveals were painted Copra Drab.

Hi Brent; according to the pictures on your site, the car on e-bay is painted the same color as the one you restored? Are the original A' colors well represented in the Paint & Finish Guide #37530 sold by Brattons. Are there any colors which are a close enough match in new formulas, if using a single stage enamel & hardener. I am not doing this for judging purposes, just a fun driver and I like the combination, yet I am sure there are other mix & match combos that I have never seen. Thanks, Steve

I adjusted the colors in Photoshop. I think they are closer to the original colors. I did not fix the layout of the colors. It is hard to get them right because every monitor will show the colors in different hues. Does the bottom picture look like the correct hue ?

Yes, the color is the incorrect color that PPG has in their formula. Yes, I knew it was incorrect when it was being painted however it was not my call to paint it that shade. In my line of work I must follow the Golden Rule (The Man with the Gold, -Rules!!) They had seen that color at a Model-A show and brought me pictures of exactly what they wanted.

As I and someone else pointed out, the one in the auction is incorrectly painted as far as the body panels. See picture below...

Yes, that's reality. Folks like what they like... it even has extra bling incorrect Top Rest ( don't call them Grab handles) for the rumble seat use.

The happiest of customer is when it's their vision and dream... Whatever it takes to make them happy. nice looking car Brent... job well done

Re: Waht color is this coupe?

Why can I not see what Brent attached in his #5 & #7 post ? I have seen these small Icons before on this site but double clicking on them has produced nothing. Can someone explain why I am unable to get anything from them ?

Thanks you
