Winfield Intake Manifold Blues...

1 Attachment(s)
Hey fellas,
I've got a nice rebuilt model B with a yellow Winfield head that was running two Winfield S-AA-D carburettors on a nice 2x1 intake. I sold the intake and bought another which I thought at the time was better. It turns out the one I bought suits BB sized Winfields and not my little AA's. I wish I never sold my original intake.

Does anyone have, or does anyone know where I can get my hands on a 2x1 intake to suit my S-AA-D size Winfield Carbs. The throat size on my AA's is 1 1/8' and the intake flange stud spacing diagonally is 2 11/64'.

Chris.

A Bone these are rare almost everywhere in our part of the world X10
even the more common Winfield S or SR manifolds are hard to find
I think you maybe better off making up a new manifold yourself

Impressive engine bay!
You left hand drivers don't know how lucky you are to have the steering column on the opposite side to the exhaust manifold.
Whilst the linkages on RHD cars are shorter to the carb and distributor, any attempt at a free-flow exhaust manifold has to circumvent steering columns. light-switch gear etc., and we have the accelerator between the clutch and brake pedals

I made an adapter years ago for a similar situation. I was adapting a SC-D carb to a SB manifold, because that's what I had. It was about 3/4" thick, tapered on the inside. Instead of studs I used 10-32 machine screws and nuts to hold the carb on. Not factory-looking but it didn't look bad, it worked, and didn't ruin anything.

Re-read his request :) . He has TWO S AA D Winfields that he wants to use on a TWO carb manifold. Must be one out there for AA s somewhere !

that's a beautiful engine there. It might be easier to find two B's or BB's to put on that manifold than to find a twin AA. Not as cheap tho', but might be worth it.
