1931 Victoria Leatherback Wood Frame I am restoring a 1931 Victoria leatherback, when I purchased the car a new wood frame had been installed in the car. None of the wood framing has wood presevative on it. Should I remove all the framing and put wood presevetive on it or not?

Re: 1931 Victoria Leatherback Wood Frame Probably not. The lifestyle this vehicle will live from here on out will likely mean it is stored inside a garage and rarely seeing inclement weather. IMHO, it is not worth the effort at this point to seal the wood.

Re: 1931 Victoria Leatherback Wood Frame The original wood had a preservative on it. Do not remove the wood to preserve its fit. Apply a sealer such as Thompson's Water Sealer. Spray it into places where a brush doesn't fit.

Re: 1931 Victoria Leatherback Wood Frame That sucker has a hundred nails in it holding the body to the frame. Removing it would be a nightmare. It is the areas you can't get to that would in many years start to rot. Finish up and have fun with it. Let the next guy worry about it.
