While I have nothing but good to say about Brattons, Snyders, Berts, Et Al. If you want deals on bearings, go to your local Bearing houses, whoever and where ever they might be. I can't say what you'll find, but at least you won't pay shipping. However, The businesses I mentioned will have your exact parts and you'll be establishing a relationship with real model A people. These are people who have been around Mod.A s for years and can be extremely helpful when you have a real problem.

On of the guys in my club ordered his from O'Reilly's a few months back. He said the price was reasonable and I don't believe he had to pay shipping.

Better question is who has USA made bearings
Maybe nobody these days...quality more important than price IMHO

NAPA sells them. They fit Fords for a very long time.
Wheels:
Front Wheel Inner Bearing 15118 Timken
Front Wheel Inner Race 15250X Timken
Front Wheel Outer Bearing 9074 Timken
Front Wheel Outer Race 9196 Timken

Thanks for All the info!!!
A New Model A friend helped me out with New Timken outer Bearings and Races which is just what I needed as my outers are shot! Now I can put my A back together this weekend and not have to wait a week until I receive the ones ordered thru the mail.
I typically buy my parts from Snyder's, Mac's and Bratton's but this was not a planned repair. I was doing my King Pins and Bushings and has "Assumed" all else would be good.
What's that old Cliche'..........Never Assumed because you'll make an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME"......Yep! That's the one!!!

I ordered the outer bearings and races from Napa, the inner ones we could not get sence they were for the AA truck, so I called berts, and they had NOS ones for $20 a set

The bearings I ordered from Napa using the current part numbers were Bower and not Timken when they arrived. Just so you know if it matters to you. Rod

Re: Who's has the best Prices for Front Wheel Bearings and Races?

I ordered the last several sets of bearings from Rock Auto, even with the shipping they were cheaper than O'Reilly and NAPA. You need the bearing numbers in most cases as they don't listings for the older cars; but they do have the bearings.

Sure most bearings are made offshore now days; but I feel better about them when they are marked with the manufacturers name and come in a box as opposed to the unbranded Chinese bearings bulk shipped in plastic bags.

When I got mine from Napa, we measured the spindle shaft and the drum size for where the race goes. That way if there is any play it can be snugged up with a tighter fit

Timkin still manufactures in the U.S., I believe.

Re: Who's has the best Prices for Front Wheel Bearings and Races?

Counterfeit bearings have been a growing problem in recent years, especially in the aftermarket. There are many Chinese knock-offs that will even mark the bearings with the OEM name on them and produce OEM packaging. There is no way of telling the difference unless the components are measured and the metallurgy is checked. Tolerances are measured in microns so a set of calipers won't cut it.
