I was worried about tomorrows dinner

But, I finally shot a turkey today.

It scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section though.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Patrick, have a good holiday !!! Deb and I are going to the Cracker Barrell. I've been wanting to do this for years and she finally agreed . It will be good, there will be no dishes or pots and pans to wash, it will be far less expensive and I won't have to eat leftovers later .

Dang, too bad you're far away, I'm cooking a 22lbs one tomorrow... I am always Thankful on Thanksgiving. As fate would have it I last spoke my Father and my Mother before they passed on Thanksgiving in 2006 and 2013 respectfully. Thanks Dad' for your teachings pm cars and lots more, and Mom thanks for your passing to me your cooking skills. I shall enjoy both tomorrow.

I'm taking my bride to Stewart Andersons for Dinner tomorrow. It was just going to be the 2 of us this year, so I thought I'd try it. They have a 3-course T-Day dinner for a little over 20 bucks. And as Purdy says, no dishes!

Well, on second thought, clean up is getting be a real PITA ! It seems everyone likes to eat, fall asleep and then get up and leave.
I love Thanksgiving, but, did I mention that clean up is getting to be a real PITA !
To keep this Model A related, I took a plate up to the old roadster to feed the mice.

Re: I was worried about tomorrows dinner

The mice have got to eat too, hopefully not the upholstery on the model A

Believe it or not there was a turkey price war in our area. Butterball Supreme grade a Turkey was 52 cents a pound which was $9.36 dollars for an 18 pounder. Ground chuck ( hamburger ) was $5.29 a pound ! Go figure, eh. You can't eat cheaper than 52 cents a pound.

The price for frozen around here was .48/lb. The extra lead shot adds quite a bit of weight and therefore cost though. [smiley face]

I much prefer the beef no matter what the price.

Patrick,
thought the whole point of "getting" a wegmans turkey was the fresh but never frozen part...........

not sure which wegmans you're going too!
