Touch up paint

Does anyone know of a place that sells "model A" paint colors for touch up. (nail polish size) I have a few small scratches that need touched up. I know that color matching is not exact. I just wanted something close. I looked at the local auto part stores, but couldn't find anything close. Also, looking at my avatar, what is the color of my A. I've looked at online colors, I just wanted verification. Thanks.

Re: Touch up paint

Take it to a Auto parts store and let them do a computer match right on the car. That then accounts for fading etcetera. Ignore suggestions about going to a craft store. Do it right the first time. Wayne

Re: Touch up paint

your best bet would be to get a digital scan of the paint. it will come up with the percentage of match, most good automotive paint supply jobbers do this...

I doubt those auto parts stores are going to sell him a nail-polish sized bottle of touch-up paint.

Our local stores can mix a pint and put some products into spray cans. More than a few dabs but a more accurate color match.

I got some special mixed 1/2 pint can for $20-25. Another time I got a 16-20 oz. spray can for about the same price. If I had wanted I could have got computer matched but I knew the paint code so that wasn't necessary.

Doesn't look like you know your paint code so I would get it computer scanned.

That's what a local auto paint store did for me a few years ago, but it worked out good. Match was perfect. Had a color code this was on a Mustang.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will take it in and have it scanned. The other question I have, is the color. Duchess Blue?

My local auto paint store is going to charge me 43 dollars for a half pint of touch up paint color matched. They sure don't give that stuff away anymore.

If you want quality you have to pay the price ! I personally don't find that price offensive .
The old saying is if you want good clean oats they are expensive, if you want oats that went thru the horse one time they are cheaper.

Clean oats make better mash.

I noticed you are in Sunbury, NAPA has a auto paint only store on South High Street a little north of 270, it is connected to a full NAPA store....the guys there are true artist, they will match your color exactly, not using a computer but 1000's of different color chips....it would be a little drive for you but well worth the trip.
