Front Bumper Brackets 1 Attachment(s)
My front bumper brackets don't seem to match. One is stamped "E" the other is stamped "C". They have slightly different curves (as shown) and angles. Thoughts?

Re: Front Bumper Brackets Seth,
I can tell you a little bit about your question and that is the "E" and "C" stampings. All I know about these stampings, which pertained to the front and rear bumper arms, clamps, and bars, are that on May 24, 1928, Ford "Specified identification mark(s) to be placed on part". Now, just what these "identification marks" represent, I do not know yet. There have been other markings found other than these. Vince might know as he has spent hours and hours at the archives researching lots of stuff. He might know. Pluck |
Re: Front Bumper Brackets I found the same problem, so it is important to have the arms match with the same letter stampings. I suspect that that this applies to both the front and rear bumper support brackets.
I am using rear brackets marked "X" on the rear of my 190A, and marked "C" on the front of the car. |
Re: Front Bumper Brackets Anyone have an extra "c" or "e" bumper bracket floating about in their shop?

Re: Front Bumper Brackets I noticed that mine are both stamped "C" when I put on a new front bumper. I was wondering what the "C" meant then too.

Re: Front Bumper Brackets Was your bumper crooked with those

Re: Front Bumper Brackets I always thought the bumper looked just a little crooked, but never really measured it out.

Re: Front Bumper Brackets Apparently the "E" brace is shorter than the "C" brace
