1925 T coupe beltline trim

Hi : I'm looking at a '25 coupe that has rust bubbles on the beltline trim that goes around the body just below the windows. The trim is about 2" high and I'm wondering if it is sheet metal or a solid piece ( maybe 1/4" thick and "D" shaped ). Thanks : Bruce

I think it's an aluminum molding.

Same stuff on my tudoor.Held on with counter sunk finish nails,The used a filler on top and it is most likely what is messing up. Sand off the paint and see if all you have to do is refill the holes.

The 25 coupe belt molding is two pieces of steel. The back is nailed over the seam and the cover piece snaps over it. I have not managed to separate mine yet, but if you nail through it, you will dent it and the nails will pass through the slots in the back without securing the piece

Does anyone make a replacement for this part, or could I make something out of aluminum and shape it to match the contour?? Thanks : Bruce

Bruce,
I have yet to see a suitable substitute. The piece is very similar to the Model A Sport Coupe belt rail but unfortunately no one reproduces that rail either.

My '25 Tudor had aluminum molding with nails about every 2". I did make some where pieces were missing and seemed fairly easy to me.

Bruce,
Just went all through this with my coupe. Treatment turned out great. If still interested on methodology, read your personal messages.
