Bent rear axle-'25 T

I am suspecting a bent rear axle on one side. The wheel on the left has about a 5/8" wobble going down the road. Switched wheels from right to left, still runout on left side. Has anyone ever attempted to straighten an axle in the car? Doesn't seem Kosher to me, just curious.

Can't be done. The axle shaft will need to be put in a press to straighten. You'll need to pull down the rear end. Have you jacked up the car and ran it with the wheel and hub off to make sure it's bent? If it's straight it should stay more or less in the center when it's turning. Or do you mean the housing is bent?

Red, thanks for the reply. It appears to be bent on the wheel side of the axle shaft bearing, Just about in the area at the fat end of the taper. The housing is straight and true.

A new axle shaft is $84, but you can probably find a decent used one for less.
