Grease fitting under inspection plate 2 Attachment(s)
I recently saw on you tube a model A owner explain where all the grease fittings were and the last one he did was the one under the inspection plate for the clutch. I didn't know there was one, I found it and it looked like it never was greased in a long time. I took the fitting out and the little bit of grease was like cement. I got it all cleaned up and tested it with shot of grease and it's good to go. Since it has not had any grease in it for a long time, how many pumps should I give it?..........thanks

Re: Grease fitting under inspection plate Not much. It's just there to lubricate the bearing carrier as it slides on the shaft. Too much and you will be slinging grease on your clutch plate.

Re: Grease fitting under inspection plate If yours has an original style throwout bearing it is also greased by that fitting. A couple or three pumps is all it needs once in a while

Re: Grease fitting under inspection plate I did not know about this one, either! Thanks for posting the nice clear pictures. Very helpful.
