Ruxtell rearend question

Hello, Could someone tell me the proper ways in which to shift a 2 speed rear end, it is a 1926 model T truck, I was under the impression that you shifted it into gear while moving, but unclear what is correct to take it out of gear, just looking to learn it correctly.

Thanks in advance, Neal in Iowa

Re: Ruxtell rearend question

Ruckstell axles whether car or truck have no neutral position so there is no " taking it out of gear". It is either in under drive or direct drive.
To shift, try to match engine speed to road speed ( that is neither pulling nor on compression), press on the clutch pedal to neutral spot and firmly shift the Ruckstell axle.
Hope this helps.
