Ahoo but no Gaa Installed my 6 volt horn with the horn resistor from Bratton's to work with my 12 volt system and pushed the horn button. After adjusting the screw on the back of the horn until just getting a good Ahoo sound, I let off the horn button. No Gaa All I get is Ahoo, Ahoo What Gives?

Re: Ahoo but no Gaa keep fiddling with the adjustment. You'll get it

Re: Ahoo but no Gaa One click at a time. Your almost there.
Re: Ahoo but no Gaa i always put a couple drops of ATF on the armature shaft. also cooler temperatures affect the sound over warmer temps
Re: Ahoo but no Gaa Even tightening the cover screw makes a difference. That's why it's best to clean the commutator, oil the felts, install the rear cover, then adjust the horn. My current unrestored horn sounds best if I could adjust it right between two clicks, so as the guys have said, one click makes a big difference.

Re: Ahoo but no Gaa Light grease on the ends of the shaft help as well. You want the maximum sound with as little spring pressure as possible.
Re: Ahoo but no Gaa Make the adjustments with the engine running as that changes the output as well.
Re: Ahoo but no Gaa Clean everything with WD-40 , than oil the felts .
Re: Ahoo but no Gaa I found that synthetic motor oil is best for the end of the shaft and the felt. Lasts a lot longer that way too.
