Window channel help.. 4 Attachment(s)
Hi. I have a 37 Tudor. I bought it as a basket case. Everything was gutted. My problem has to do with installing the windows. Both front and rear glass. I have installed the cats whiskers on the door. The sweeps screw to both the garnish and door. It comes with two metal sleaves that the glass slides threw. I would like to know what goes above that?? There is nothing for the glass to sit in except for that. There has to be something that will prevent it from rattling, or hitting the metal of the door.. Thanks..

Re: Window channel help.. A little hard to tell from the photos, but looks like the outer felt piece is in place (it goes all the way around the outside of the window). There is a similar matching piece that goes around the inside and attaches to the window trim. There are also guides down inside the door.

Re: Window channel help.. I dunno about 37's, but in a 35 the flat fuzzies, like in your pix only run along the bottom of the reveal and door opening. A channel section should run up and around, there should be associated channels where they fit into inside the door structure.

Re: Window channel help.. I have the fuzzies on both the door, and the garnish molding. I bought one of those kits for both the fronts and rear side windows. I am asking. Is there anything else that goes in there for the glass?? I have been looking at Bob Drake, and I see different ones for both the 36, and the 40. The one for the 37 looks like all it is is what I have right now. If that is all I need. Then I will buy my glass next week.

Re: Window channel help.. That's all there is the roll of glue on rubber/felt goes around the window frame the glass will stop against it when up. The whiskers go against the door and garnish trapping the glass between. The short channels go below window opening. The glass is a booger to get in. There is instructions posted here on installing the glass, do a search, quarter glass install will have you talking to yourself:eek:. Zeke
