Well - sort of.

Thanks SD. I wanted to mention radios in Model A's.
If you have a smart phone, I use an iPhone, pick up a Sharkk Boombox. I use Pandora (free app) and have a list of radio stations. The sharkk is bluetooth. Just fire up your station ( you pick 'em) turn on the boombox and you have music. 10 hours on a charge. If you get a phone call the music turns off, press a button and you are hands free. Hang up and the music restarts. It boombox is 8x3x3 Appox. Loud and sounds great. Charge from a wall outlet or a computer. It can be very loud if you crank it up and I'd guess battery life could go down to 6-8 hours, $59.00 on Amazon.

Dad used a Zenith "Wave-Magnet" radio in his 1936 Ford. But this had it's own 45 volt battery.

I use a Zenith A600 running on batteries. The Wavemagnet is in the top of the case.

Used 60 (yes, sixty) "AA" batteries for B+ and 3 "D" batteries in parallel for filament supply. Another "D" cell by itself for the dial lamp.

Admittedly, the A600 didn't come out until the 50's, however it is all tubes and does run on batteries, so that's close enough. The sound is impressive.

60 AA batteries has to be expensive. Guess I'll just keep listening to the engine rattles.:D

Tom, if you get bored listening to the engine rattles, just open up your windshield a bit and pick up the whistling of the wind as it venturis thru, while you humm that great hit of 1925 - "The Little Old Ford, It Rambled Right Along".
