clutch adjustment problem

I had to take the pedals out to replace the steering column, When I try to adjust the clutch, the adjuster seems too long. When adjusting it is going further on the threads than it ever was before. It seems like something has slipped. The fork looks close enough to the throwout bearing. What is going on?

The fork on the throwout bearing is not seated properly. Open inspection cover and move the fork left or right to get it on the throwout bearing. I had the same experience. Ed

V4F and ED nailed it the release bearing hub is rotated. I don't know how to get it back without potentially breaking something. Please help! I attached a photo to show what is going on.

Re: clutch adjustment problem

Try this -
1. Take the pin out of the adjusting clevis on the clutch adjusting clevis to free it from the clutch pedal.
2. Let the clutch lever drop down, that will put the forks to the rear.
3. Remove the spring on the throw out bearing hub. At this point I think you will be able to push the throw out bearing hub forward and then turn it so it locates into the forks properly. If necessary, you could pry the throw out hub forward a little. I think you'll be able to do it without prying though.
4. Replace the spring on the throw out bearing hub.

Or just pull the fork back and use a screw driver to pop it back into place. Leave the spring on, they are a "B" to replace.

Yep ! If there was room for it to get out of "WHACK", there's room to get it BACK in "WHACK"!

Many thanks to Dan, Red, and Bill! Without your help it would still be not fixed. Dan, I used your advise and used the pedal for leverage and felt it release, then a few whack's with a hammer and punch, the hub went back to where it belonged. This forum is a modern wonder.
