Electrical Power ON!

I just applied battery power to my 31 Coupe:). I have been wiring it since purchasing this spring. Have turn signals and headlights but the ammeter is wired backward:mad:. I have 12 volt halogen headlights and I get low beams on both lights but no high beams. I checked and have good circuits (grounds are good) and 12 volts at the two wires where they are taper pinned joined to the headlight lead wires but no high beams on either light. The wires from the headlight socket are black and beige and green. I assumed green is the ground but which wire is low beam and which is high beam? The bulb is a german make. Also what amp circuit breaker should I use for just interior light, and brake light if I put them on a separate circuit?

Use a welding helmet to actually look right at the filaments to see if one or both are lit at the same time. Sometimes the repro wiring contacts touch each other and light up both filaments together. If this is the case, then it might seem like you get no high beam.

You can use an ohm meter to check which wire from the bulb socket with the bulb installed is the high and low beam. The high beam should have the lower resistance. Greer should be ground
