Magnet cap screw Torque

Anyone have a good torque value for the capscrews that hold the magnets to the flywheel? My capscrews donot have a hole for safety wire.

Tight! :) They are so close to center that I guess Ford found out that they don't unscrew and did not need the wire. They are installed without lock washers, don't use then. I just pull them tight with a standard 1/2 drive ratchet.
Torque values in the Model T and A era were set by the length of the proper wrench for the job.
Rod nuts (3/8) are about 35, head bolts (7/16) 40 to 50 (35 to 40 on the early blocks) so should be some where in between 40ish maybe.

I don't worry about torque either. I use locktight blue. Use the red if you don't plan to open them up again.

Thanks for the info. I think I will torque to about 40 and use some blue locktight.

Snap!? If a 3/8 fine threaded (cap screw) bolt breaks at 35 to 40 foot pounds there was something wrong in the first place.

You might be right but there are are always easyouts &helicoils.

3/8" fine cap screw if Ford original used magnet clamp bolt is probably at best a grade 2 .

Torque would be way less than 40 lb. ft.!

Just snug it tight with a 3/8 socket wrench with a 8" handle, that is plenty.
