What's the technical name for the sheet metal under the radiator? I'm looking at a 29 Special Coupe this weekend. The guy emailed cell phone pics of the car. There are some paint chips just under the radiator shell on the sheet metal. Is that piece called a valance? If I could figure out how to load the pic from his email I would. If all that needs repainted on the car is that 1 piece, how big a job is it to remove that "valance" for repainting? Would I have to tear the whole front end off the car? What is the technical name for the piece directly under the radiator/grill shell and how can I upload a pic of it? Thanks a million, Smitty

Re: What's the technical name for the sheet metal under the radiator? The thread below will help in resizing:
Here are the steps I use to resize images with Microsoft Paint (free in Windows): 1. Open the image in Microsoft Paint (right-click and choose Open With...) 2. Choose Image Attributes to get the current size, then click Cancel 3. Divide the desired size (800x800) by the current size to get a percentage 4. Choose Image Stetch/Shew 5. Enter the percentage to shrink the image, then click OK 6. Choose File, Save As to save the image with a new name To upload: 1. Click "Go Advanced" in the Fordbarn thread 2. Click the icon that looks like a paper clip (attachments) 3. Click Browse 4. Find the file you resized in the steps above 5. Click Upload 6. Click Close this window https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47740 |
Re: What's the technical name for the sheet metal under the radiator? If you have a photo on the Internet - almost ANY photo - you can right click and see "properties." Left click that and you'll see it's URL listing. Copy the URL listing by highlighting it, and right click/copy.
THEN - go to the quick reply screen. At the top above where you write, you see 2nd from right a picture with two mountains on it. Left click that. A box will open where you can "copy" the pix URL you picked up earlier. As to YOUR pix, best would be to have a photo hosting service such as photobuddy, or snapfish. From these you can right click/properties - and then paste YOUR pix. Or you can "Go Advanced" down below the quick reply. Once there you "manage attachments" (down below the entry screen) and the software allows you to "browse" (see this) and then "attach" the pix file you want to upload (next step) to the posting. I like the former method best. Easy to do and mostly you don't get into problems with picture size - if it shows on the web then it shows as an image in your post. Hope this helps. EVERY forum is a little different in how it takes on pix, or how tolerant it is on sizing, or numbers of pix. Joe K |
Re: What's the technical name for the sheet metal under the radiator? now I am seriously computer challenged and im able to easily do it
you must know where your picture is ie is it on your desktop.in your picture ,or document folder .a hard drive etc then when you are posting the message look for the paper clip icon its just to the right of the smiley face click on it, now you will have to go to where you have the picture stored on your computer(picture file etc) click on browse, and then find the picture and click on it,then upload , and get out of that window check preview to make sure that's the photo you want and hit send its as easy as that I don't understand all the advanced and other storage sites I don't have to resize the photos either if you can send a picture via email ,its the same procedure here. just as easy |
