Flat Head Oil Pan

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone tell me what the value on a flathead oil pan that aluminum is? Its stamped 1932, so I assume it only the 60hp flathead.

I heard they had it 2 ways. One with a dip stick, one without, Is that true?

It is a 1932, But the 60 hp. was not made until 1937. Don't know about the dip stick.

If it's aluminum I'd guess it's a late 32, the early 32 had the dip stick in the block, right hand side rear about 2in. above the pan rail. The 32 was only 60-65 HP. It's probably priceless. Walt

I believe the 1932 v8 was rated at 60 horse power.

All the info I have or have read state the '32 V8 was rated at 65 hp.

65 horsepower was the original rating. The pan in the photos is the last of three versions of the '32 aluminum oil pan. As for value, if there are no cracks or other major damage it could bring upwards of $500. If there is a crack (that dark area in the front on the left side [when on an engine block] looks suspect), few have successfully welded a used '32 aluminum pan in the part of the pan in direct contact with oil.

I saw one sell at Carlisle, PA maybe 20 years ago. Could not believe the number of $100 bills that the buyer shelled out for that item.
