New engine 2 Attachment(s)
Some of you may remember I lost my engine back in November when the crankshaft broke in two. The block ended up being crack beyond what was recommended to me for repair so I the end I tracked down a serviceable block and started over. I pleased to say after months of work and gathering parts it's finally done and runs great! The engine is a complete insert with all machine work done by a local shop. The rest of the build and assembly was done completely by myself, so says young guys can't work on and drive a Model A (I'm still under 30)

Re: New engine Looks good and no doubt these old cars are so much easier to work on than modern cars. :)
Time to empty the sediment bulb. LOL:D |
Re: New engine Thanks guys, I'm very proud of this engine and can't wait to get it back on the road!
Tom, that's the first thing my grandfather told me as well went I showed him the video of it running...meant to empty it first but forgot about it! |
Re: New engine So bring it to Monday coffee! It is a great feeling when all your plans come together.

Re: New engine Looks good Kevin. I will have to pull my engine in my ccpu soon. Seems the previous owner JB welded a small hairline crack right under the water pump and it is now seeping water. I did not notice it because it was all hidden by paint.
how's school? Jerry |

Re: New engine I'm with you brother. I was still 29 a few months back when I rebuilt mine too. But yours looks a whole lot nicer than mine does right now. As soon as this big swap meet comes up this month I'm gonna really dig in. Just waiting to see if I can find good fenders and such before I start doing body work. Glad your enjoying it again.

Re: New engine Hey Kevin,
Wow, if this is you first rebuild...you did good ! Looks great ! Did you keep it stock or put upgrades in the engine ? |
Re: New engine Thanks! Definitely my first rebuild of a model a engine, I've done others but not an a. I went to town on this engine...it has insert mains and rods, modern valves with oversize intakes and hardened valve seats across the board, counterbalanced crank, touring cam, 6.0-1 head, and a v8 style clutch setup! Pretty sure that's all of it. My success is largely due to the information you guys put out there, I'd never have known what to do or how to do it without you guys! (Won't lie, there was still some guess and check going on but it worked out!)
