I have a Howard M14 that is a radical cam and it idles at 950 to 1000 rpm. I had a fuel dragster with a Potvin 425 , on the can of nitro it would idle at about 1200

Wherever you prefer it.
It will idle at 600 but will have better off idle throttle response from
900 to 1200.

Re: 425 potvin cam idle rpm

Before I had a lifter fail and destroy Pete's nice cam, I found the idle speed to be ideal @ 800 RPM with the timing advanced to 12 degrees initial and 24 all in. The throttle response was fantastic and I expect the new cam, after I send another core to Pete, to be the same.
