parking light

Wiring up rust bucket to sealed beam head lights. My problem is that i have three wires coming into the bucket. I have found the parking light wire, but after grounding the light, there is no where to hook it. The light has three terminals 1 for the ground wire, 1 for the high beam and 1 for the low beam. I have found the following
6 oclock system off
7 oclock parking light wire is hot
5 oclock no wires are hot
4 oclock high beam is hot
tail lights work at 7 5 and 4 oclock
Horn works and brake lights work
So where do I hook the parking light wire to?
I know Stupid question:confused:

Re: parking light

The original set up on a standard vehicle had two filaments for the lights (two wires) and one for a smaller parking light. Two bulb reflectors and one bulb reflector. On deluxe cars the parking lights were the cowl lights (and wired differently to terminate at the cowl lights).

Re: parking light

If your running turn signals you can hook up the lower watt side on a dual filament bulb as a running light. Other wise the parking light wire will not be used and should be taken out or capped.

At 5 o'clock the low beam should be on.

Re: parking light

Thanks guys I am thinking of using the parking light wire for some parking lights some where. As for the low beam, it sounds like a connection problem at the switch. Not my favorite thing to work on.
