Are the current manufactured inner-tubes still bad ?
 

I am getting ready to mount tires on two sets of rims, and need to buy 12 new inner-tubes (six @ 19" & 6 @ 18"). In the past few years I have heard a great many stories about failed tubes from all the manufactures.

Does anyone know what the 'latest' information is on the recent batches of inner-tubes now coming to the market place ? Are there still some 'bad' ones out there, or are are they ALL GOOD now ?

If your not into show motorcycle tubes (dirt bikes) are super thick . and have metal stems , we use 400-425 x 19 inch never had to call AAA.

I purchased new tires and tubes from Snyder's in December 2013 and they now have 600 trouble free miles. I check the pressure once a month and in that time I believe that I only had to add a minute amount of air once. The Snyder tubes are made of all new rubber, not a mix of recycled stuff.

Try Bert's in Denver CO.
I bought 4 this spring based on comments on this site.
They saw Radial on the stem and the bag says 100% butyl rubber.
I've put about 1000 miles since they were installed and no trouble so far.

I bought tubes from Brattons about 6 months ago and haven't used them yet. They say made in China on them.

brattons are made off shore but to his specs excellent quality
if your buying tubes it would be a wise choice to go with his

I had two tubes from "another" supplier and they both had slow leaks (in the same tire). I bought a new one from Brattons and haven't added any air since. It's been about three months. I LIKE their tubes!

Try Kelsey Tire in MO. They make the Goodyear tires. Their tubes are thick rubber and excellent quality. Sometimes you get what you pay for, try Kelsey Tire.

I have used them also. Several choices on stem style.
Choice of natural or butyl rubber.
Good stuff.

I just recently bought a set of tires and tubes from Las Schwab. The tires obviously came from Coker (Firestone's) and the tubes are made in USA. The tubes are excellent! Very thick and in over 1000 miles, have not had to add air to any of them. They are all still at exactly 35 PSI whenere they were when I drove the Model A out of the tire shop.
