'40 coupe - headliner - super glue Securing the headliner: after trying DAP Contact Cement that originally tested ok but did not stick when I needed it, I went to Walmart and bought Permatex Super Glue. It worked good to secure the headliner around the windows, etc.
Now I wonder, will it continue to hold with time and temperature; anybody got any experience using super glue in the cars? thank you, fordman |
Re: '40 coupe - headliner - super glue There are companies that make contact cement specially for headliners. I would try that first. Look here:
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...ntact%20cement I would stay away from a super glue type product, although I have never used any on upholstery. I am surprised that your DAP product isn't working properly. Are you using a "fresh" , unopened bottle? |
Re: '40 coupe - headliner - super glue Yes, I bought a quart from Ace Hardware, and read all the information telling how very good it is. I made a test and it seemed good.
The next day, it did not perform as described. After several hours and attempts, I tried the super glue. thanks for your help, fordman |
Re: '40 coupe - headliner - super glue 3M spray glue works very well .

Re: '40 coupe - headliner - super glue Use 3M 1300L, that stuff works great.
