My new Toy

Lawrie Kyte has posted the import of 33Ford (ex Nz Cactius Corboy). Well I'm now the proud owner and about to get it registered in Australia.
Been mucking around with the horns and have discovered the outside looks all 1933 stuff but inside is a different story. Can anybody please advise where I can get the original ( or copies) of the internals. they sound pathetic.

Do you have a picture of the horn internals?
Have you tried adjusting them?

Very nice looking car, and even right hand drive for you. 33 and 34 are two of the best looking cars Ford built IMHO.

I am in total agreement that the 33s and 34s are the best looking Fords. Yours looks great.

Bill, first thing I look for is, a '33 has a single hood latch in the middle and a '34 has two hood latch handles. Plus if I recall the '34 has a V/8 emblem in the grille................

I also like the 33-34 There was a 34 coupe that sat close to our house when I was growing up. Loved that car, do not know why I never got one.

About 8 months before I went in the Navy I sold my 28 Roadster and bought a 34 Ford Tudor. Thought I had died and went to heaven. Just loved that Tudor.

When I left for the Navy my Mom & Dad took over the 34. They continued using the 34 until 1948. Dad had installed a rebuilt Ford engine about 1946. He said it finally needed a can opener to get in and out. Traded it in on a 47 Buick at the Ford dealer in Carson City, NV. Dad said they saw the 34 a week later and the Ford dealer had fixed the doors and detailed the car. Dad said he almost bought it back because it had been such a good reliable vehicle. The 34 was Tan with Red stripping and Red Wheels and Mohair Interior.

Re: My new Toy

This thread immediately turned from the horn problem to the good looks of the 33 and 34 Fords. That's easy to understand though because they are so good looking, and if you look on ebay, only a few are left original. Most all of them have been rodded.

BTW, still would like to see a picture of the horn internals.:D
