CAN YOU HELP ME ?? I HAVE A 1930 2 DR SEDAN ,,,WENT TO START IS FIR THE LOCAL PARADE AND STEPPED ON THE BUTTON ON THE FLOOR ,,,,, NOT EVEN A SOUND ,,,I KNOW THE BATTERY IS HOT BUT PUT THE CHARGER ON IT AND CLEANED AND TIGHTENED THE TERMINALS TOO... STILL NOT EVEN AN UMPHHHHHHH,,,,,DO I HAVE A BAD STARTER OR A SWITCH .....z??????

You could have a bad switch. The starter bendex could be stuck in the fly wheel.

Starter drive gear may be hung in the flywheel. Put transmission in 3rd gear and give the car a big push backward. Try again to start it.

Actually the push should be forward to unstick the drive, just like an engine after starting will be running faster than the starter, and will spin the drive back out of engagement. Seems most people just rock the car back and forth, and that should work also. As MAG mentioned, 3rd gear is best for the most leverage.
