Need bearing help.

My C59A appears to be a bit of a mongrel. I need connecting rod bearings, but the sizes are throwing me for a loop. My old shells are marked .020, and a 59A should have a 2.138 crank meaning the journals should read 2.118. However, my journals measure 2.012 or thereabouts. Now with a .020 grind, that makes the journals 2.032 or thereabouts originally. What the heck sort of a crank have I got here? I am totally confused. To add to the woe, the shells are insert type, like 8BA but thicker. I'm prepared to have to change to floaters if necessary, but these sizes are doing my head in.

I think you've got your decimel point in the wrong place! Are you sure the journal[s] don't measure 2.120, not 2.012?

ford was famous for saving cranks that were not perfect, he would have them reground , and not necessarily to the nearest .010, some times to .008 or any where in between
